LIVE IT OUT!!

Hello Group,

This week we have been challenged to "have an unhurried conversation with a spouse or friend about 'what's most important' and 'what gets in the way' of living for what's most important.

We look forward to reading how each of your conversations plays out and how the Holy Spirit with move and speak to each of you this week.

Much Love,
Kam and Valena

  1. Ben and I had 6 hours this weekend to talk about our week, study, and the challenge for this week as we drove from Bloomington to Wisconsin and back to see my folks.

I'd just like to start by saying how excited we both are to be a part of this study and group. We have been members of Eastview for about 4 years now and have never been involved in small group studies. We are looking forward to sharing with you all and learning from each other!!

I'll briefly recap what we talked about and try to touch on everything. We both agreed that what gets in the way of living for what's most important is laziness and lack of obedience. For me personally it is my lack of obedience. I know I should spend quiet time daily with the Lord and in the past I know how it has positively affected my day, conversations with others, attitude, and my growth of faith. However, I find other things to get in the way of doing this. I'll watch my favorite TV show, exercise, run errands.. and each time I walk past my bible I will look at it and think about it but not act any further. DUMB!!! I hate admitting it but it's true.

What's most important to me is how I act out my faith to others and a lot of that stems from the solid foundation of faith I have. I have been in a few roles of leadership/mentoring (leading a small group through ONE, teaching) and I want others to hear about the joy and peace I have in my life! At my church in Wisconsin the pastor talked about sufferings as blessings. There are so many trials in this life that can cause people to break down, look for help, and on a more positive note, rejoice, and these are great opportunities for faith to be shared. I have experienced many ups and downs in life and looking back on it, I have so many things to rejoice about because my Savior loved me, cared for me, and provided for me. That is not something that should be kept secret!! :)

    Thanks for listening!
